Hello! My name is Jenny Aguilar; I am a certified educational therapist and an active member of the Association of Educational Therapists. My small practice specializes in supporting students first to college-aged students with dyscalculia, ADHD, and written expression challenges. I have a Masters degree in Education and teaching credential from Pepperdine University and an educational therapy certificate from the University of California, Riverside. Before becoming an educational therapist, I was a 4th and 6th-grade math/science classroom teacher for seven years. I teach students about the science of learning, their cognitive profile, and use a strength-based approach to cultivate skills and bolster their self-confidence. To learn about the learner's cognitive profile, I read over a comprehensive neuropsychologist report, if they have one, meet with parents, teachers, and other allied professionals, and then assess students formally and informally. In addition to gathering objective data about skills and discovering misconceptions from the assessments, the information gathered helps me establish and prioritize treatment goals and select the appropriate methodologies. Upon gathering information and understanding the child’s learning challenges, I plan specialized strategies that are responsive to their learning needs and strengths and improve their academics and self-confidence.

Jenny is genuinely gifted in her ability to interact constructively and positively with young children. She consistently creates an accelerated, tailored learning environment that is also fun and enjoyable for the kids. She has the ability to work with a wide range of children, including those that are gifted and looking for advanced instruction and those that are working through specific developmental issues. Most importantly she teaches my boys how to learn, embedding a true growth mindset into her approach- 7th & 5th Grade Parent There aren't enough words to say how great Jenny is. She is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and very committed to finding the best way to connect and teach our son while making learning fun. Our son has really thrived with her and we feel very fortunate to have her in our life! - 8th grade Parent She was punctual, prepared, and highly engaged in every one of our sessions. Jenny took her supervision work very seriously and applied herself in a diligent and professional manner. I routinely assigned Jenny tasks to do in between supervision meetings; Jenny completed each of these tasks with a high level of expertise. She brought to each of her sessions excellent questions and important issues to address. I am very impressed by Jenny- she is an outstanding educational therapist- Daniel Franklin, PhD
